Keelan Harvick Set To Make Super Late Model Debut At Kern Raceway

HARRISBURG, N.C. (Oct. 21, 2025) - Keelan Harvick’s quick ascension up the developmental ladder climbs another rung this weekend at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, California. The 13-year-old Harvick will make his Super Late Model debut at the half-mile oval in his father’s hometown on Saturday night.
Harvick’s Super Late Model debut comes as his first season in the lesser-powered Pro Late Models begins to draw to a close. Harvick has three races left in the Pro Late Model in 2025, including another race at Kern Raceway in November, and his first attempt at the Snowflake 125 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida in December.
The third-generation racer has been wildly successful in his young Pro Late Model career. He made his debut in the Pro Late Model earlier this year in March at Kern Raceway. Since then, Harvick has won six times in the Pro Late Model between CARS Tour and CARS Tour West competition. He also finished second in the Masters of the Pros 200 at Owosso Speedway in July. Harvick just recently went to victory lane at North Wilkesboro Speedway in CARS Tour competition after battling with Luke Baldwin for the victory.
All of this success comes in barely a year of racing full-bodied stock cars. Harvick made his debut in a full-bodied car at what is now known as Coastal Plains Raceway in Jacksonville, North Carolina in April of 2024 in a Street Stock. His next full-bodied stock car start came in a Limited Late Model at Florence Motor Speedway last November.
Now he’ll move into the Super Late Model at Kern Raceway. And if you’re wondering how different the Super is from a Pro, its biggest difference is found in the power output. A Super Late Model has somewhere between 650-700 horsepower, while the Pro Late Model has an approximate power output of around 450 horsepower.
Harvick’s Super Late Model debut is also another round in the Harvick Cup fueled by Hunt Brothers Pizza, the head-to-head series that Keelan and father Kevin have had going much of this year. So far, Keelan is up on his future NASCAR Hall of Fame father by a score of six wins to two after last weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
The 13-year-old driver told FloRacing last weekend at North Wilkesboro that his first laps in the Super Late Model will come when practice begins this weekend at Kern Raceway. He and his RackleyWAR team have not turned any testing laps in preparation for this race.
