Team Race Preview
NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 17 of 35 – The Milwaukee Mile
MILWAUKEE STATS:
Cale Gale
has one career NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the famous
Milwaukee Mile. Gale began the race (June 2007) 28th and gained
five positions to finish 23rd.
Earlier this season Gale ran a Hooters Pro Cup Series race at
The Milwaukee Mile, crossing the finish line in the third
position.
BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER CALE GALE:
With so much history associated with The Milwaukee Mile, how
special is it when you race on this track?
“It means a lot.
I’ve grown up watching races at tracks like Milwaukee and now to
be here running 250 miles, it’s a pretty neat deal. I mean, the
best in racing have won on this track, and here I am today
racing on it. To run a track that means so much to this sport
and holds so much history is really cool.”
Do you expect to improve on your finish of the last two weeks?
“Yes.
Wally (Rogers, crew chief) and the guys always work hard to give
me fast cars and this week will be no different. The past few
races we’ve had a little bad luck, but we should be fine at
Milwaukee.”
MAKING
A PRESENCE:
This weekend at The
Milwaukee Mile Camping World will have a presence like no other.
On Friday night, they hold the entitlement for the Camping World
RV Sales 200 Truck race. Included in the truck race will be the
No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Camping World Silverado and the
No. 2 KHI Camping World/RVs.com Silverado. Returning Saturday
night for the Nationwide Series race, Camping World again holds
the title sponsorship for the Camping World RV Rental 250, where
Gale will pilot the No. 33 Camping World Monte Carlo.
TURNING THE KEYS OVER:
Next week, at New
Hampshire International Speedway, Kevin Harvick will return to
the driver’s seat of the No. 33 Camping World car. Gale has
driven the No. 33 KHI car for the last two races at Nashville
(Tenn.) Superspeedway and Kentucky Speedway.
CHASSIS HISTORY:
This week the No. 33
KHI Camping World team will unload chassis No. 044 for Gale at
The Milwaukee Mile. This is a brand new chassis, making its race
debut for the Camping World RV Rental 250.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP:
At the Meijer 300 at
Kentucky Speedway, Gale qualified the No. 33 KHI car in the 12th
position. Shortly after the start of the race, Gale began
falling back due to an ill-handling car. Fighting a
loose-handling car, Gale ran near 20th for most of the night
before crossing the finish line 18th.
